Sunday Bulletin

Here is a digital version of our Sunday bulletin, including announcements and a sermon outline

November 9, 2025

We are glad you are here with us today because we believe that our time is special and life-transforming. We meet at 10AM in our Main Auditorium, with a livestream in the Family Room and in the outdoor shaded area. The Family Room is set up especially for young children and parents. The outdoor area is shaded, and we welcome children and well-behaved pets.

Gathering for church is both assumed and commanded in the Bible (for example, Hebrews 10:24-25). For those who don't want to or who can't gather, we encourage them to, but we also believe that they may still benefit from many of the ministries of the word of God and of worship. Hence, we livestream our worship services. Please be aware that watching online (rather than gathering) limits your ability to worship, which is meant to be done together. It is not what the Bible means by "the church," which literally means "the assembly." Again, we encourage you to join us every Sunday.

What can you expect at Sunday Worship Service?

PRAYING & READING SCRIPTURE. We submit ourselves to God with a reading of Scripture and go to Him in prayer, recognizing the One we have gathered to worship. God’s mercies are new every morning.

SINGING TOGETHER. We joyously join together in song in praise of the triune God. Singing helps us to connect our hearts and emotions to God and unites us as we rejoice in the gospel.

STUDYING SCRIPTURE. We open God’s word to study what it says and apply it. The Bible is God’s self-disclosure to His people. It is a light unto our paths and sustenance for our souls.

KIDS CHURCH. Kids Church consists of programs for ages 2 year-olds up to 6th grade students. We also welcome you to the Family Room for parents with infants and toddlers which livestreams video of the Main Auditorium worship service. And all children are welcome in "Big Church."

TAKING COMMUNION. The gathered church (those physically attending) will take communion in remembrance of the sacrifice of the incarnate Son of God, Jesus Christ. (Those who are not gathering will forgo this ordinance.)

OFFERING OUR FINANCES & PRAYERS. Having received God’s word, we respond in worship by prayerfully, joyfully, and sacrificially giving of our money. Use our app to offer prayer requests and seek fellowship, and give offerings online. You can also ask for prayer and give offerings on this website.

SHARING CHURCH NEWS. We give church announcements of important things that are happening in our congregation, how to get involvedwhere you can serve, and how you can grow.

SCATTERING FOR MISSION. Having responded in repentance and faith, being equipped by God’s word and filled with His Spirit, we embrace our calling as children of God to be witnesses of His love and grace.

How Can You Get Involved?

MEET IN COMMUNITY GROUPS. During the week we gather for fellowship, prayer, and study in homes throughout Los Angeles to wrestle with the truths of the Bible and love one another. Most groups are meeting in person or through online software such as Zoom. Find a Community Group near you by visiting: delreychurch.com/cgmap

MEMORIZE THE CATECHISM. Join with others in our church as we memorize the New City Catechism. The word catechism comes from a Greek word κατηχέω (katecheo), which is a term used to describe the communication of information and instruction. As Christians, we are deeply concerned that our community is one marked by communication of biblical information and godly instruction for life in Christ.

Memorize the question and answer.

  • Question 45. Is baptism with water the washing away of sin itself?
  • Answer: No, only the blood of Christ and the renewal of the Holy Spirit can cleanse us from sin.
  • Scripture Reference:

    Luke 3:16
John answered them all, saying, “I baptize you with water, but he who is mightier than I is coming, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.”

  • Check out our awesome Catechism Resources with activities and songs to help you memorize!

GIVE FINANCIAL OFFERINGS TO SUPPORT THE CHURCH. It is good for us to give as part of our regular worship to support the mission and ministry of the church - that's why God tells us to do it. We offer many ways to give to suit any mode of generosity the Lord puts on your heart. You can give on our app (tap the "GIVE" tile). You can give right here on our website at delreychurch.com/giving
